Best Ways To Quit Smoking for Good

Quitting cigarettes is tough. In fact, it is so tough that many people actually start smoking again, even after a month or even a few short weeks of being through with it! Why do people do this? Well, there might be several reasons, but the two main reasons probably boil down to this… stress, and lack of willpower.

A lot of people take up smoking because of stress. So, lets say you have a really stressful job. Maybe you would take up smoking because that gives you something extra to look forward to on your breaks. Then, lets say that you get transferred to a department that is much less stressful. Then, you quit smoking because you realize that it is bad for you. Then, lets say that you get moved back to the other department… you know, the stressful one. You might be VERY tempted to take up smoking again. Why? Well, because you partially associate that department with your old smoking breaks, and also, being thrust back into this stressful situation will make you crave that extra “something” again.

The key to quitting for good is to be committed to it, and that means that you need to have willpower. Don’t just quit because you don’t need to smoke anymore… be committed to quitting because it is the right thing to do! When you get into stressful situations, deal with them instead of relying on a substance like nicotine, and remember that you are going to be better off in the long run having quit now, rather than later.

Quitting smoking for good is a victory that you should celebrate… and if you haven’t experienced this victory yet, it is important that you  work towards it. Smoking is definitely not good for you, so why do it? You will be much better off taking up a habit that is not bad for your health. Also, think of all the extra money you will acquire over the course of your life if you stop smoking right now? Add it up, and see how much you spend in cigarettes every year. Wouldn’t you rather spend that money going on a cruise or a vacation? You probably spend enough over the course of a couple years smoking to do both of these things! Why would you want to smoke, rather than do something fun with your money, like go on vacation? Click here to learn more on how to quit smoking fast.
