Quit Smoking Tips For Success
A lot of people would like to kick their cigarette habits, but have trouble doing so because nicotine is a very addictive substance. It is hard to break the chemical need that your body manufactures from years of smoking, but sometimes, unfortunately, people attempt to quit smoking, fail, and never try again. This is not the way to be… you can stop smoking, and you can do it today! You can beat nicotine and cigarettes, but you have to find the willpower within yourself to do so. If your willpower is stronger than the nicotine, then you can overcome cigarettes, but you have to establish a strong will before this is the case. Are you wondering how to do that? Well, here are some tips.
First of all, you need to recognize that smoking does not really add to your life. In fact, it is taking away from it by making you less healthy! You also need to recognize that, if you have not been able to quit, then you have proven that you are a slave to cigarettes. But it is time to break free from this slavery! Once you realize that there is a problem that needs to be fixed, you are on the right road to getting out of it. Accepting that your life needs a change is the first step to overcoming cigarette addiction.
Next, remain positive. If you have smoked your last cigarette, make a promise to yourself not to buy any more. If you have a few left, throw them away. Better yet, burn them so that you are not tempted to dig them out of the trash. Stand up for yourself… you are better than this! You do not need cigarettes to be complete, so use your money and buy something else, like your favorite candy or even some nicotine gum.
When cigarettes start to come back into your mind (and they will), and when you start feeling the withdrawal from the nicotine, remember to stand strong in your decision. Tell yourself that you don’t want to end up with lung cancer, and that you feel much better with breath that smells clean. Every time you see cigarettes at the store, say to yourself… “no, I am better than that”. Tell yourself every day, out loud, that you are a better person for having quit.
